Hi, everyone! I have GOOD NEWS!
Tenho boas notícias. Trago o primeiro podcast do nosso espaço aqui.

Hello, visitors! Hello students!! My name is Daniel Oliveira and It is with great pleasure that I announce here that this is the very first PODCAST I have ever made and the goal is simply to help... YOU. Anyway, ah, This specific Podcast is aimed at those whose knowledge about English is very little. But in general I will try to make podcasts divided in three levels: Basic, intermediate and advanced. You can always contact me, ok? Don’t forget that. All you gotta do is leave a commentary and I will answer right away! Alright? I had never done such thing before but I got really inspired.
What happens is I am an English teacher, right? As a second language. I teach English as a second language and every day, every single day, I sense and I see that my students, they have extremely bad difficulties, they great difficulties when it comes to listening comprehension. And why is that? Well, some of them, in fact, most of them, they don’t have the habit, right? They are not used to listening, right, to watching movies and everything. So, that’s why I am preparing these podcasts and that’s why they are all for free. Ok, because the intention I have, the goal, the purpose is to share the podcasts with my students, but if you’re not my student you’re completely welcome. In fact, I want you to be welcome, I want you give me your feedback, your suggestion, your opinion, right, anyway, as today… as this is the very first podcast, It’s not going to be a long one, in fact it’s going to be a very short one and very easy one. Here you’re gonna find some new words and expressions but don’t get frustrated! Sometimes it’s very hard, especially if this is your first time, if this is your first time, don’t worry about it because I’m pretty sure you won’t understand the text. You won’t. In fact, you won’t understand a word I’m gonna say. If you’re completely basic, well, then you are not going to understand what I’m saying, that’s obvious. Ok? But anyway, the point is, the more you listen, the better. Even if you don’t understand what I’m saying right now, it is very important. And why is that? Because you’re gonna get used to the language itself. You’re gonna get used to English itself, right? The pronunciation and the intonation which is also very important, the words , ok, all the podcasts that I’m going to upload here, all of them, they are going to have transcriptions so you can listen to podcast, you can listen to the audio and you can read the transcription. Of course you’re gonna have to look up the words. And when I say “look up”, look up means to open your dictionary and see the words you don’t know. That’s look up, right? If you a new word, for example, let’s say, ah.. computer: Let’s suppose you don’t know what computer means, you’re going to look up the word “computer”. When I say “look up”.. dictionary.. Look it up, you’re gonna look it up in the dictionary. But anyway, you’re gonna, you have to get used to this habit, you have to get used to this practice of opening your dictionary and finding new words all the time. That’s useful, that’s important and that’s how you’re going to know English. You’re going to learn English if you don’t learn words. BUT if you learn only words that’s not helpful, in fact, that’s not helpful at all. You have to learn word and you have to get used to the listening part. You have to get used to the spoken English, to pronunciation, to expressions, to intonation, ok, if you don’t wanna be sounding like a robot, you have to listen a lot. Ok, so that’s why I am preparing these podcasts so that you can have a more dynamic, a more natural audio to listen to. So as today it is the first podcast I am preparing, it is going to be very easy! And very short. Ok? Don’t get frustrated, if you don’t understand what Im saying here, theres no problem, you are going to understand later. If you keep on studying, if you keep on following the tips I’m going to give you from now on here on the blog, believe me, you are going to understand in the future. In a near future. Believe me. Ok and there are many websites that are available just to help you and they are completely for free. So here I am at 3 in the morning, preparing this Podcast just for you. So, perfect, let’s go.. Well, I wrote a little story about Robert. In fact, let’s see here, I think ROberti sounds better because he’s Italian. Roberti is an italian name and Roberti, the character is italian. So the story I wrote is about Roberti, ok? So I’m going to read and you are going to listen to my pronunciation and after that you’re going to read the transcription and see the new words in a dictionary, ok? So, pay attention to my pronunciation and intonation: to the way I talk. Alright, then? Here we go. Hello, my name is Roberti and I will tell you a bit about my life: I live in a very calm neighborhood. In my neighborhood, people are very polite and respectful. They greet me every time I pass by them.
My favorite activity here is to ride my bike in the mornings. The weather is always cool around 10 am, so riding a bicycle can be really relaxing, especially if you are listening to some music while you’re exercising. There are parks and rivers here and not so many cars.I am 20 years old and I love to play my guitar. My favorite kind of music is Rock. But the old one, of course. I like to listen to Elton John, The Beatles, Phil Collins, you know and so on.I study Italian – Italiano, mama mia, porca miseria!!) but I’m not very good at it.
I want to be a veterinarian one day because I love animals. I like them a lot. I don’t have a girlfriend, I am single. But… if anyone is interested, well, feel free on hitting on me! (hahaha) that was a joke! Don’t worry about it! Read again, repeat, go back, go forth, see the words and how you pronounce them. Leave your commentary with a feedback. I want to know what you have to tell me. I want to know what you thought about it so that I can prepare a better story, exercise or audio file later. My name is Daniel Oliveira and.. that’s pretty much it. Ok, I’ll see you later, Bye byelater, Bye bye
A tight hug,
Daniel

ResponderExcluirIf you put the files on soundcloud and pay attention during the upload you can enable the download in the appropriate tab.
